He is glad the Spielmann liked the bust of Gilbert, it is now in the tender mercies of the R.A. committee. One of the Academicians is known to have said that thirty years will show if Gilbert is the genius some think. The clay of the bust was bronzed before being taken to the exhibition. Responds to some of Spielmann's more specific criticisms.
