He has been halted at Benares for a week. He suspects Humphry will not find a resident at Benares, although Dr. Balfour will be happy to receive him. Also he should get a welcome at Col. MacKensie. He wishes for a full length of a local notable called Nunco Sing[h], who will also aid him.
