Content Description

He writes on the behalf of Mr. Fuseli, who has finished the painting of a subject from, or picture of, Macbeth, commissioned by the recipient; he considers it the "most considerable" of his productions. Fuseli is "very much connected" to Sir Joshua Reynolds and would like it exhibited at the Royal Academy, he will despatch it rolled, to affect repairs on his return. Fuseli wishes it not to be seen by too many before its exhibition, as he wishes for it to have maximum impact on the public.

He refers to a previous letter in which he enclosed the terms of Seriel for the execution of a statue, it does not matter if the recipient does not want the work ,a s Seriel is not depending on the commission. He hopes that the recipient has been successful in being elected to Parliament. There is little news from Rome, the Cardinals are "imprisoned" in the Vatican and there are few strangers about, other than Lord Huntingdon and Lord Rawdon; Capt. Scawen and Mr. Horneck left for Naples, Marchant was tempted to go with them.
