She is very desirous of having the cabinet pictures that are already painted and those that are yet to be done, but will not think of not paying him for them, though she does want to see an example of thw ork of the artist who Humphry suggests to do the work. She wants to know Humphry's price, thinking it should not be too large. She may sound harsh after his protestations of gratitude, but after having been deceived once has no wish to be so again.
