Content Description
He is surprised, and his vanity delighted, at Humphry praise of his pictures. Any merit in them is due to their being strcitly imitative of nature. He thinks too much of modern landscape painting is taken from other paintings. He thinks so highly of Humphry's opinion that he has written to Towne saying to exhibit the smaller work. His wife, uncle [James White] and Mr. Jackson are well.
