Dance has fallen seriously ill on a visit to his sister-in-law, Lady Holland, Dance is the last of the founder members of the
Academy; he agrees with he recalls that he arrived in London in 1763, the
Society of Artists was formed in 1765, and knows everything about the Royal Academy; he sets forth his views on why the society failed and how the Irish Academy should be run on the same lines as the Royal Academy; he lists the instituting members of the Society; he then provides a critique of an article in the Edinburgh Review; he has not changed his poor opinion of
Queen Caroline.
