Content Description

Gainsborough gives directions for hanging 15 portraits of the Royal Family: they are to be hung with their frames touching in the order shown in a sketch at the foot of the letter.

Acquisition Details

A pencil annotation to a card catalogue for this item suggests that this item was purchased from the Queen's Gallery in 1970, for £100 (together with RAA/SEC/1/3).
