Content Description
Notes on the preparation and use of pigments in oil and vehicles, "according to the great Italian schools". Three paginated manuscripts deal with the painting of skin, draperies, landscape and various other tints. Another manuscript deals specifically with the Venetian method of painting. Additional notes at the rear of the volume deal with detailed aspects of the mixing and use of pigments.
