Content Description

He is disgusted to hear from her letter of the conduct of Mr. W., who's folly perpetually develops itself; his oft repeated fetes may lead to his ruin, with consequences for their dear friend; he has heard she has been ill and asks her to write with news; he has also heard that the Russians killed 20,000 French troops; Lord Wellesley showed him a letter from Lord Wellington where he states [in reference to the battle of Salamanka] that "he never saw an army take such a beating and with superior Numbers to us, even with our Spaniards".
