Thos Lawrence, Russell Square, [to John Knowles]
Date
08 Mar 1829
Level
Item
Extent & medium
1 piece, 4pp.
Historical Background
The address referred to is probably Lawrence's discourse of 10 December 1828. Robins may have been the printer. See LAW/6 for the background to the discourses in general, and LAW/6/4 for the 1828 discourse.
Content Description
Lawrence would like to see a newspaper with "this previous nonsense", or one of the placards. He has every belief that Robins will oblige him either by wholly omitting his name, or by correctly inserting, liberally, his own words. Lawrence condemns the "unfriendly negligence" of
Raphael West for not getting "this blundering ignorance" corrected, which had doubtless been sent to Robins as a faithful extract from Lawrence's address.
