The Catalogue is preceded by seven notices: Life of M. Heemskerck; Authors, who have noticed him; Adversaria; Disciples of M. Heemskerck; Portraits of M. Heemskerck; Engravers of the prints after his designs; Publishers of those prints. These are followed by the Catalogue, which is divided under the following headings: Prints from both the Testaments; Prints from the Old Testament; Prints from the New Testament; Prayers, Parables, Emblems and Allegories; Fable; History, &c.; Landscapes; Addenda. The Catalogue remains an important study of its subject.
The frontispiece shows a portrait of Heemskerck, captioned in the plate, 'Martinus Heemskerck. Obt. Octr: 1st. 1574 Æt.76.'
