Each plate is captioned with the name of the owner of the drawing. Most were owned by G. Hibbert or Dr Monro. The two owners besides those mentioned on the title page were W. Alexander and J. Laporte. Viscountess Palmerston is mentioned in place of the Viscount.

The verso of the front free-endpaper is inscribed in pencil, 'S.A.H.', i.e. S.A. Hart, librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.
