General Note
The pamphlet catalogue describes the events portrayed in the painting and also includes the subjects of the 10 sketches exhibited with the painting. Further editions appeared in London in 1820 (see 23/568), in Leeds in 1833 and an American edition with completely revised text in Philadelphia in 1830 when the painting was exhibited there. The text has been attributed to Ange Denis Macquin [M’Quin].
