Summary Note
Millin was best known for his accounts of the history of architecture in France. His Dictionnaire was in its day the most complete available. It includes references to French, Italian , German and other authorities.
A note on the verso of the half-title of Volume I states that a small number of copies was printed 'sur papier vélin superfin satiné'.
A second edition was published in 1838.
