From drawings so prepared the present Series have been most carefully photographed ... They consist of *I. King Henry VIII. By Hans Holbein ... *II. King Edward VI ... *III. Mary Queen of England ... by Lucas de Heere ... IV. The Princess (afterwards Queen) Elizabeth ... *V. Queen Elizabeth ... Attributed to Federico Zucchero. *VI. Mary Queen of Scots ... VII. George Villiers, Duke Of Buckingham ... by Arnold Mytens ... This Series is published in a Portfolio, price three guineas; or as single Prints, at 10s. 6d. each. Those marked with a star are also published most carefully coloured ...' The plates are photographs pasted onto boards, on the versos of which (except those of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Buckingham) are pasted printed descriptions of the original paintings.
