42 full page engraved plates, including title-page and 'Avertissment'. Each leaf printed on the recto only.
The prints are printed in sanguine and engraved in the `crayon manner' by Gilles Demarteau, one of the inventors of this printing technique.
Title page and "Avertissement" included in the numbering of the plates.
Demarteau's address ("A Paris: rue de la Pelterie à la Cloche") in the imprint at the foot of each of the leaves.
At the foot of the title page: Livre 1er.
