The Index To The Plates calls for the portrait of John Ireland by Mortimer to be included in this volume, but (at least in the Royal Academy's copy) it has been bound into Vol. II. - Vol. II: [2], [311-]607, [5] p., frontis. (port.), t.pl.(incl. vignette), [24] leaves of pl. Eleven of the leaves of pl. carry 2 prints. Those which belong to series carry numbers - the Election (1-4), England / France (1-2), the Times (1-2).

Responsibility Note
The frontispiece of Volume I is signed as drawn by Hogarth and engraved by Barlow; that of Volume II (portrait of John Ireland) is captioned as by John Mortimer and engraved by W. Skelton. Only four other plates in each volume are signed by Hogarth as source-artist; but all but two (facing pp. 571, 581, in Vol. II.) are signed by engravers - Dent, (I. or J.) Barlow, or Corbould and Dent.
Three pl. in Vol. I (facing pp. lxvi, lxxi, lxxxvii) and five in Vol. II (facing pp. 437, 492, 544, 571, 581) carry the publishers' imprint of J. and J. Boydell and the date.
The two title-page vignettes are signed as drawn by Hogarth and engraved by J. Barlow.

Summary Note
The publication-date of June I. 1791 is carried by both title-plates. In Volume I three plates carry dates - one, that of May 31. 1791 (facing p. lxxxvii), but two that of July 4. 1791 (facing pp. lxvi, lxxi). In Volume II ten plates carry dates - five of them of February or May 1791 or 1790; four of 1766 (facing pp. 353, 364, 373, 379), and two of 1756 (facing p.391).
In 1798 John Ireland published 'A Supplement To Hogarth Illustrated; Compiled From His Original Manuscripts'.
