Publication-dates are given on the title-pages as 1816 and 1818; some plates were made earlier - one describes Laurent as director of engravings at the Musée Napoléon (Vol. I. pl.[20]), and one describes Bartolozzi as being 85 years old (i.e. in 1812) (Vol. II. pl. [8]).
