Summary Note
The five volumes were published in 1729, 1730, 1731, 1732 and 1733. The text is in French, with a Latin version at the foot of each page. The Latin title is, 'Monumenta Francicae Monarchiae'.
The plates show seals, miniatures, tapestries, tombs and other antiquities, representing the kings of France and some of the events of their reigns. The frontispiece of Volume I shows a portrait of Louis XV.
