Summary Note
The plates were engraved between 1670 and 1677; but were assembled in a numbered sequence in 1710 with a title-plate, and issued as part of the project to publish the French royal commissions (Cabinet du Roi). (In 1727 the set was issued again, together with eleven unnumbered plates showing plans and views of the Louvre and Tuileries.)
The plates show: (2-12) the Louvre, Galerie d'Apollon (pier-glasses, ceilings); (13-29) the Tuileries, Grands Appartements (doors, doorcases, panelling, wainscots).

Contemporary red morocco, upper and lower covers gilt-decorated with heraldic device (fleur-de-lys emblazoning shield encircled by chains of St. Michel and St. Esprit); gilt-decorated spine, lettered 'Ornem Des Tuill'.
