The work describes the wedding in Parma of Elizabeth Farnese, Duchess of Parma, and Philip V, King of Spain, in 1714. It is attributed to Giuseppe Maggiali with plates after Ilario Spolverino. The first plate shows the cortege of the bridegroom and Cardinal Gozzadini entering Parma; the two following plates show the lavish temporary decorations inside the cathedral; the fourth shows the wedding ceremony and the final plate shows a ground plan of Parma cathedral.

On the recto of the front loose endpaper is inscribed in pencil 'Henry F. Hall 1 April 1863'.
Pasted at the bottom of the title-page is a printed owner's label partially removed, 'Francesco Berg ...'

The leather spine is blind-stamped with fleurs-de-lis, no lettering.
