Summary Note
The second volume carries the same title as the first, with the addition of the words, 'Seconde Partie'. There is no statement of the authorship of the text in 'Tome Premier [Premiere Partie]'.

Those of 'Tome Premier Seconde Partie' show 73 paintings or drawings (by forty-six artists: nine by D. Feti, four by Caravaggio and C. Maratte, three by Parin del Vago, J. F. Romanelle, P.F. As stated in the title, most of the works shown are from the collections of the King of France and the Duke of Orleans, but many are from that of M. Crozat, and few are from other French collections - those of the Prince de Carignan, the Queen of France, Rheims cathedral, Bibron de Cormeri, Comte de Morville - with a small number from collections outside France (the Barberini, the King of Spain, the Duke of Grafton and Roi Henry). The Crozat collection was eventually bought by the Empress Catherine II of Russia for the Hermitage, St. Petersburg.
