General Note

This work is the result of a study tour in Spain Prentice undertook between November 1889 and June 1890. The work is dedicated to the Queen Regent of Spain, Maria Cristina. The work comprises the dedication, 'List of Subscribers', 'Preface' (dated August 1893), 'List of the Plates' and 'Description of the Plates' followed by the photolithographs of Prentice's selected drawings focusing on the Plateresque buildings of Spain constructed between 1500 and 1560. The drawings were photolithographed and printed by James Akerman, 6 Queen Square, London.
