The engraved title-plate is printed on two leaves pasted together.
The engraved portrait is signed as painted by C. Parrocel, the head by J. Chevallier after a bust by J.B. le Moine, and engraved by J.G. Will. The plates are all signed as designed, drawn and directed by J.M. Weis, and as engraved by J. Ph. Le Bas (apart from pl. 1, signed as engraved by M. Marvye, and pl. 10, signed as engraved by 'l'Auteur').
The headpiece and tailpiece of the engraved text are signed as designed and drawn by J.M. Weis and as engraved by Marvye. The borders of the text are signed on pp. 11, 12, as made by Babel. The engraved title-plate is signed as scripted by Le Parmentier and engraved by M. Marvic; the engraved portrait is also signed as scripted by Le Parmentier.

The plates and text describe the procession, arches, stages, decorations, pageants, jousts and fireworks marking the visit of Louis XV to the city, including a striking representation of an illuminated Strasbourg cathedral (pl. 7).
Provenance
The front pastedown carries the armorial book-plate of 'Sr. Charles Frederick Surveyor General of the Ordnance'. The verso of the front free endpaper carries the book-plate of 'Iohannes Phillip R.A.' Purchased for RA Library in 1873 (see 'List of Books Purchased', RA Annual Report for 1873, Appendix No. 5, p. 37).
Binding Note
Rebound in full calf by Robert Paling (1998), gilt-tooled in period style with red morocco spine-label lettered 'Fêtes De Strasbourg'.
