Summary Note
The dates of 1688, 1689 or 1690 are carried by some plates engraved by Willem Swidde. The added engraved title-plate reads, 'Caroli Gustavi Suecorum Gothorum et Vandalorum Regis Vita Et Res Gestæ'.
One plate is a portrait of King Karl. Most show scenes of battle or fortresses; some are plans; one shows a banquet (pl. 75).

Provenance
Purchased in 1868 (see 'Report on the Library', RA Annual Report for 1868, Appendix No. 6, p. 32). The front pastedown is inscribed in pencil, 'S.A.H.', i.e. S.A. Hart R.A., librarian of the Royal Academy 1864-81.
