Responsibility Note
The plates are all signed by their engravers - C. Grignion, G. Scotin, S. F. Ravenet or L. P. Boitard. No draughtsman is named, but the plates are copied from Jan Wandelaar's illustrations to the original edition (1747).
The title-page vignette is signed as drawn by N. Blakey and engraved by G. Scotin.
Each numbered plate carries the publisher's imprint, 'Impensis J. & P. Knapton Londini' (with the date).

Summary Note
Publication-dates of 1747, 1748 or 1749 are carried by the plates.
The plates show the human body set before scenic backgrounds (including a figure of a rhinoceros). Plates 1-9 are preceded by bis plates which are outline drawings keyed to the text.
In the same year the Knaptons published also a Latin version of this work.The work was originally published in 1747, and has been regarded as one of the high points of anatomic engraving.

20th-century half calf, marbled-papered boards; retaining earlier black morocco spine-label lettered 'Anatomical Tables - The Muscles, Blood Vessels And Nerves Of The Human Body - Albinus'. Bound with one other.
