Summary Note
Our catalogue title is taken from the caption of the first plate. The first plate is undated, but plates [2-7] all carry the date 1777.
The plates show Domenichino's ceiling fresco in the Palazzo Costaguti, Rome, which he executed about 1622. Each plate is captioned. The first presents an overview of the whole ceiling, and its caption explains the subject of the whole - the god of Time dislosing Truth and bringing her to the light of Day. Plates [2-7] show details.
Binding Note
18th-century half white vellum, blue paper-covered boards; red morocco spine-label lettered 'Galle. Panfi. Tempo. Deita. Inedi. Costa.' Bound with one other.
