The Luttrell Psalter : two plates in colour and one hundred and eighty-three in monochrome from the Additional Manuscript 42130 in the British Museum / with introduction by Eric George Millar
The book reproduces many of the illustrations found in the Luttrell Psalter, especially in the Psalms. The work is a manuscript created in northern England circa 1325-1340. At the time of the publication of this book it had recently been acquired by the British Museum and now is in the British Library. The book bears the dedication, "To a friend of England, John Pierpont Morgan". The American millionaire lent the Museum the purchase price, interest free. Following the dedication is a Preface (by H. I. Bell), Contents, Introductory, History of the Manuscript, Description of the Manuscript, 3 appendices, Index of the principal subjects illustrated, and, finally, the plates. Loosely inserted at the back of the volume is a full list of subscriptions to the fund for the purchase of the Luttrell Psalter and the Bedford Book of Hours.
