All plates are signed as drawn by R. Wilson, and as engraved by M. Rooker, E. Rooker, Jas. Gandon, W. Hodges or Jos. Farington. None carries a publisher's imprint. W.G. Constable refers to the set as 'published by Boydell, 1776' (W.G. Constable, Richard Wilson, London: Routledge & Kegan Paul, 1953, p.212) and it was listed as part of the Boydells' stock in 1803 (see An alphabetical catalogue of plates ... which compose the stock of John and Josiah Boydell, London 1803, p.48).
