Photographer. Born in Chemnitz, Germany 25/11/1959, Anne-Katrin Purkiss studied Journalism and Photography at Leipzig University from 1979-1983. After working as a photographer for the Leipzig advertising agency Dewag she moved to Britain and worked for the colour slide service at Associated Press, London Bureau from 1984-1988. Since 1988 she has been a freelance journalist and photographer working for the Foreign Office’s London Press Service, the Cabinet Office, the Countryside Agency and South East Museums’ Council.
