Augustus Mayhew (1826-1875) was a British journalist and author. He collaborated with his brother Henry Mayhew (1812-1887) to write The Great Plague of Life: or the Adventures of a Lady In Search of a Good Servant (London: David Bogue, 1847?), also illustrated by George Cruikshank. From 1848 to 1850 he edited The Comic Almanac and collaborated with H.S. Edwards to produce a number of plays including Christmas Boxes (1860) and The Four Cousins (1871).
