Scene painter for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden Married to John Davenport, novelist, and later to Sir William Glock, head of music at the BBC.

The date of birth given here is based on information in the DNB entry for the artist’s 2nd husband William Glock, which also gives her maiden name as Hale. She was at school with Julian Trevelyan who was born in 1910 so a birth date of 1913 is feasible. In his autobiography, Indigo Days, published in 1957, Trevelyan also states that Clement Davenport had recently died.
