Lord Methuen RA (1886 - 1974)

Paul Ayshford Methuen, 4th Baron Methuen RA, PPRWA was a painter, zoologist and landowner. From 1939 to 1971, Methuen was president of the Royal West of England Academy, Bristol. He was elected an Associate of the Royal Academy in 1951, and became a Royal Academician in 1959. He was also elected an Honorary Associate of the Royal Institute of British Architects (Hon ARIBA) in 1947 and a fellow of the Society of Antiquaries in 1951.
