Established by Josiah Taylor (1761-1834), bookseller, publisher, printer and possibly engraver. Son of the engraver, Isaac Taylor the elder (1730-1807) from whom he inherited a publishing business established in 1787. Based at 56 Holborn, opposite Turnstile (1787), High Holborn, (1805, 1807, ?1810) and Architectural Library, 59 High Holborn.
