Photographer. As with many other photographers from the period, Henry Dixon (1820-1893) originally trained as a printer. Though, perhaps, best known today for his photography for the Society for Photographing Relics of Old London, Dixon also successfully developed a business of fine art photography.
Dixon's son was Thomas James Dixon 1857-1943 . According to photoLondon Lucy and Ellen Dixon were also part of the partnership known as Dixon & Son. Although Dixon died in 1893, the company was probably active until the beginning of the 1940s [it was founded in 1887]. Pritchard lists 112 Albany Street as the address of Henry Dixon and Son until 1908.
