In an artist's statement published in the catalogue to his 2012 RA exhibition 'LithORRgraphy: Chris Orr RA and the Art of Chemical Printing', Orr wrote that this print, along with another early print in the RA collection, Da-zblin (11/914), was 'inspired by reading James Joyce's Ulysses , [and] exploited a large-bed offset litho press to achieve an epic filmic effect'.
Inside Moonies is one of more than one hundred prints Orr has presented to the Royal Academy since 1995.
