Photographed in the Artist's studio at 115 Ebury Street. F.G. Stephens describes the house as 'large, modern and roomy...' and as having 'studios and workshops'. Immediately behind Calder Marshall can be seen the 'Tali Players, and 'Psyche'. To the extreme left of the photograph is a sketch of the 'Venerable Bede translating the Gospel of St John' behind which the large seated figure is a cast of the statue of Crompton. 'The Infant Satyr', seen on the lower of the two shelves to the right, is Calder Marshall's Diploma Work, which is in the Academy's Collection. The title when it was exhibited at the Academy in 1848 was 'The Last Drop - a young Satyr drinking'. On the same shelf, the draped figure is 'Mother of Moses'.
