He was surprised to find that he had been entered on the member's nomination book as a painter, when he regards himself as an etcher, at least in official Academy terms. He bleives that a protest was made the year before when his name was senn to not be on the list. He suspects that he could not be elected as a draughtsman, the filed on which his wider reputation is based. He would like Clausen's advice.
