Content Description

He is surprised that Clausen has managed to keep his head above water and raise a family by painting, without sacrificing his ideals. He condemns the practice of giving an uneducated public what they want and getting rich quickly. He recently saw a work by Brockhurst which he liked, and asks why Brockhurst has changed for the worse, then says a similar thing regarding Picasso. His health is good but his eyesight is failing, which makes painting and drawing difficult. He hopes they shall meet at the N.E.A.C. private view. He thinks Dodd a very good man and hopes Connard becomes P.R.A., "although his peculiarities will tell against him".
