Royal Academy is not so grand, there is a fine full-length of Mr. Ferguson by Simmons of Bristol; Northcote talks of travels near London; he has seen
Garrick as Richard III and provides his opinion; also describes a visit to Ranelagh where he met
Dr. Goldsmith, [Charles] Gill [Academy student] laughed with him about Roberts's Academy figures; he describes a painting by [
Sir Joshua] of
Miss Child; he concludes with some business involving, among others, Dolland; finally he mentions seeing the painted hall at Greenwich by
Sir James Thornhill.
